Thermal effects
For some integration systems it is important to know the thermal properties of the fotovotaic material/element. They are decisive when the modules have further additional functions such as thermal insulation or solar gain.
For example, a window with plain glass conducts heat relatively well. Its low thermal resistance is visibile from the condensation of water vapour on its surface. It is therefore imperative to lower the thermal transmission coefficient by planning for intermediate spaces between glasses. Some companies supply photovoltaic modules inserted in a multi-glass system.
Solar gain can be altered by the choice in the degree of semi-transparency of the modules.
